Spring in Amsterdam

The days are getting longer, the sun starts to shine brighter and the temperature is rising. Welcome to spring in Amsterdam!

Borrel anyone? Over the last few months during this up and down period it has been tough not to visit a terrace to share stories with your friends and family, and it is now a fantastic sight to see and to welcome locals and the Dutch tourists back onto the terraces and into restaurants once again. While travelling to and from abroad is still advised against, Amsterdam remains quiet and this is thus the perfect time to visit and explore the beautiful capital, Amsterdam.

"26 story podcasts and 200 monuments"

Besides the already existing walks, a new walking tour through Amsterdam has been released in the theme of Remembrance Day [4 May] and Liberation Day [5 May]. The interactive map from the 4 and 5 May committee takes you up to 200 locations that have been significant during World War II in Amsterdam. Not only will you be able to read about these historical places, there is also 26 narrative podcasts that have been placed on the walking map at their historical locations so that one can walk while listening through the streets and squares that play a role in the story.

During the walk, have a pit stop at one of the many terraces on the Canals, in the Jordaan or here in Oud-Zuid.

Make it a weekend getaway!
