Our top 5 breakfast and brunches in Amsterdam

Whether you are visiting Amsterdam for a few days or you are living here, it is always good to know where to have a great breakfast or brunch in the town.

Always remember: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And since you will be exploring Amsterdam, we have listed the best places for breakfast, brunch and coffee in Amsterdam.

BAKERS & ROASTERS

The atmosphere and the cuisine are inspired by both Brazil and New Zealand. This cute breakfast and brunch spot in De Pijp is one of the most popular places for breakfast and brunch in Amsterdam. They are serving with organic, sustainable and seasonal food. Throw in fantastic coffee and a good range of homemade cakes, and it’s no surprise queues start to form at both branches around 10am. Oh, and if the weather’s nice, head to the one on Kadijksplein – they have a huge outdoor terrace.
Staring at Jacob Amsterdam

STARING AT JACOB

This excellent brunch spot in Oud-West serves yummy food and great vibe. A variety of fun wake-up cocktails can be imbibed along with your meal. The star of the show is the fried chicken with buttermilk waffles, but they also offer tip-top poached egg dishes and a mean banana bread.

CT COFFEE & COCONUTS

Then you’ll love this airy De Pijp eatery. This café is located inside a former cinema from the 20’s. The facade is very beautiful and the interior is nicely decorated in a comfy industrial style. There are three floors to welcome you. The main focus here is the humble coconut – they come juiced, squeezed and blended in all manner of thirst quenchers and cocktails – or served fresh and whole.

LITTLE COLLINS

Founded by Australians missing the brunch tradition from their home city of Melbourne. Little Collins is a great restaurant in De Pijp that serves brunch every day. Street, even though their brunch dishes have a more global feel. They do a wondrous kimchi and gruyère scramble, the health-conscious will enjoy the fava bean hummus, and the waffles with potatoes, bacon and poached eggs are a sure-fire stomach-filler.

THE AVOCADO SHOW

As its name suggests, the Avocado show is all about avocado. All the dishes are very nicely presented, and the deco is really cool too!
