Cultural Weekend in Amsterdam

The Alfred Hotel in the Cornelis Schuystraat is just a short distance away from the Stedelijk Museum, Rijksmuseum, and the other museums around the Museum Square. The hotel is easy to reach from Amsterdam Central Station, Amstelstation, and other areas of the city. From the tram or bus, you can already spot some of Amsterdam’s famous canals and sites.

Check-in is quick and easy, and coffee and tea facilities are present for a caffeine shot in your room after arriving. When getting ready to leave the hotel for some sightseeing, there is a map with directions available at the reception. It is just a little over 10 minutes by foot to reach the Stedelijk Museum and during this time of the year there are stalls selling delicious oliebollen at the Museum Square.

A visit to the Stedelijk Museum is well worth it and once you are ready for dinner, head back to The Alfred Hotel. You can take advantage of booking the half board package including dinner from Umami Restaurant. Upon check-in you can select the meals of your choice and these will be delivered to your room at your preferred time. Fancy dinner out? Ask us for our favourite restaurants and terraces in the area.

After an early night, make the most of your Sunday morning in Amsterdam. You can rent bicycles from the hotel’s reception to cycle through the Vondelpark and vicinity. You may also opt to take your takeaway breakfast bags with us. After just 10 minutes cycling you will find a quiet spot in the park to eat your breakfast, and from there it is easy to explore the rest of the park as well as the Oud Zuid district.

Unfortunately, it will be time to check-out after 2 days of exploring Amsterdam. Check-out may be extended based on availability, otherwise there is always the possibility to leave your luggage with our staff at the Lobby while continuing seeing more of the city.
